Animal Magic - Evidence/Evaluation
December 12th 2014 - The initial idea for my concept, was derived from the "imagination/mythological" aspect of the brief. I entertained the idea of creation, and of playing God to create something new, or supernatural. A key influence at this stage was the character of 'Manbearpig' in the South Park episode 'Imaginationland,' wherein the monstrosity of creation wreaks havoc upon a government laboratory, after entering through a dimensional portal. I was considering titling the animation Hybrid Theory (not to be confused with the Linkin Park album of the same name), as it played with the idea of creation, and of scientific debauchery, but also the idea of hybrid genres that I was considering employing.
